BitMouse CryptoX does not allow its Services to be used for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or sanctions evasion. This policy summarises how we prevent it.
1. Know your customer (KYC)
| Level | What we ask for | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Email, phone number, name, date of birth, country | View prices, join savings circles as an invitee |
| Level 2 | Government ID (for example NIN, Ghana Card, national ID, passport) and a selfie with liveness check | Deposits, trading, P2P and withdrawals within standard limits |
| Level 3 | Proof of address and source of funds or wealth | Higher limits and business accounts |
2. Ongoing monitoring
We screen customers against sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists, monitor transactions and blockchain activity for risk, and apply the travel rule to crypto transfers where required.
3. Reporting
We report suspicious activity to the financial intelligence unit in the relevant country, for example the NFIU (Nigeria), FRC (Kenya), FIC (South Africa) or FIC (Ghana), and we may not be allowed to tell you that a report has been made.
4. Restricted activity
We may delay, refuse or reverse transactions, freeze funds or close accounts where we suspect financial crime, as the law allows.
5. Records
We keep KYC and transaction records for at least the period local law requires.
6. Compliance officer
