These terms are an agreement between you and BitMouse CryptoX ("BitMouse", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using bitmousecrypto.com, our apps or our USSD service (together, the "Services") you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Who can use BitMouse
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You must live in a supported country (Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, Mauritius, Namibia, Botswana, Seychelles) or use only the services we offer to people abroad.
- You must not be on any sanctions list or act for someone who is.
- One person may hold one personal account.
2. Your account
You can sign in with your Google account; we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, never your Google password. You must give true, current information and complete identity verification before you trade or withdraw. You are responsible for keeping your password, devices and 2-step verification secure, and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once at support@bitmousecrypto.com if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
3. The Services
We offer spot buying and selling of crypto assets against local currencies, a hosted wallet, transfers between BitMouse users, a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace with escrow, savings circles and related tools. Which Services you can use depends on your country and your verification level. We do not give investment, tax or legal advice.
4. Fees
Our fees are shown before you confirm each transaction and on our fees page. They include trading fees, deposit fees for card and mobile money, and network fees for on-chain withdrawals. Promotional fee waivers are subject to the reward terms.
4a. Buying crypto with card, mobile money or bank
Card, mobile-money and bank payments are processed by Paystack. When you buy crypto this way, the rate is fixed when your payment is confirmed, and we send the crypto to the wallet address and network you entered. Single orders must be between 2 and 1,000 US dollars in value until you complete higher verification. You are responsible for entering a correct address; crypto sent to a wrong address or network cannot be recovered. If we cannot complete an order, we refund the payment to the original method, less any fee the payment provider does not return to us.
5. Orders and transfers
Once confirmed, an order or crypto transfer usually cannot be reversed. Check the amount, recipient, address and network before you confirm. Sending crypto to the wrong address or network may cause permanent loss. Prices move quickly; the price shown at confirmation is the one that applies.
6. P2P marketplace
In P2P trades you deal directly with another user. We hold the seller's crypto in escrow and release it when the seller confirms payment or when we resolve a dispute. You must pay only through the payment method shown in the order and keep all trade communication in the BitMouse chat. We may decide disputes based on the evidence available, and our decision is final as far as the law allows.
7. Customer assets
We hold customer crypto separately from our own, mostly in cold storage, and we publish proof of reserves monthly. Crypto assets are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit insurance.
8. Prohibited use
You must follow our acceptable use policy. We may restrict, suspend or close accounts, freeze funds or report activity to authorities where the law requires or where we reasonably suspect fraud, money laundering, sanctions breaches or abuse.
9. Suspension and closing your account
You may close your account at any time after withdrawing your balance. We may suspend or close an account with notice, or without notice where required by law or to prevent harm. When an account closes, we return any lawful balance to you after completing required checks.
10. Liability
We provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by market movements, your own mistakes, events beyond our reasonable control, or the actions of third-party networks, banks or mobile-money providers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email or in the app, unless a change is required sooner by law.
12. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of the country of the BitMouse entity that serves you, as shown in your account. Please first raise any issue through our complaints process.
